Did I mention in my last post how much I love a deal? I bet I did.... I do love a deal, but I also like making the most of the deal. How long can I make it last. You know the old addage, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do with out." There are a lot of Americans who would do well to heed that advice these days, just sayin..... I think I do a pretty decent job of this. I am a firm believer in taking care of what you have. So ten plus years ago, before Mr. M. and I were even married, my friend and I were at a garage sale. I came upon what I thought was a fabulous bargain. A cream leather recliner for $20. Good deal huh? Yep I told you so, oh wait, that was not nice... I gave the chair to Mr M. for his new house. I had no room for the chair myself but could not pass up the deal. I knew I was going to marry the guy someday and the chair would be ours anyways. I just didn't know when.... That is a story for another day, told two different ways, depending on who you are talking to. So I am sad to inform you the chair has bit the dust. This tiny hole was similar to what was on the other arm until....
It met my 7 children and their curios fingers.I know the leather was past nice anymore, but it was someone else's before it was ours 10 plus years ago, so I would say we both got our money's worth.
Now it looks like this and has for about 6 months. I think we have followed the "make do, wear it out." addage, don't you? So after these six months of making do by strategically placing my throw over the gaping hole, and being sooo tired of finding green treasures all over the house. I struck another bargain to get this new prize.
There are definately some pluses to warehouse shopping. This brand new chair is kinda free. I took my rebate from the warehouse, bought a small item and got the rest in change, cash, cold hard cash. I will use this cash to pay off the other card I used to buy it on. I will wait patiently for my next statement where my reward points will get me at least $30 to $40 dollars in free clothes for my kids or me. Not a bad gig huh? So in essence, I paid nada, zilch, nothing, for the chair and scored some free clothes too. Credit cards are not all bad, if you can make them work for you and not against you. Also I learned in my new found coupon habit that some items bought at the warehouse are just as good a deal as what you can get using coupons. Helps to have a husband who works there, and is willing to do the math and figure it all out. We do make a good team, him and I. I went right to work on the "use it up" part of that addage by sitting there since I brought it home, I wish!!. It's the perfect cozy little spot to park my hiney and let my kids crawl all over me while I attempted to read them a bed time story or two. They calmed down and cuddled while we sang songs and knelt by it as we prayed. I am pretty sure some sweet times will be had in and around this chair and I can not wait to "wear it out!"

Great score Jamie. What a great chair!
Oh my goodness, I love it!!! Can't wait to come over and see how well it goes with your house!
Score! Even though I am teased for being a shopper, I am a bargain shopper too. I love it. Can't wait to see it at bunko!
Hey Friend,
Sorry it's been a long time... I love the picture of ALL your kids at the bottom. I can't believe that 8 years ago we were two single girls, with time on our hands and dreams of kids running around our feet. Now we have dreams of a clean kitchen, and a good nights rest. Miss you.
We're coming in for a few week this summer. We'll have to get together.
Love ya
Tamee
