Thanks Dad

Oh happy me. Layne took this last week off of work to be home with us for spring break. I didn't even have to ask, his idea. We our lucky people. I took advantage of his great idea and we planned family time,  work time,  celebrated Coopers Birthday and then did a little of nothing. Had s'mores with friends at their house. My kids think that is camping. Not really in the mood to correct that theory  just yet. We had a great day date Saturday and attended a nephews baptism. Our week in pictures below. Having them all home and packing in extra work and play has worn me out. It was a great week, but I am ready for school and routine again. At least I think I am, that gets old too.

We completely emptied the garage, painted it, reorganized it and put it all back together in one day. I could hardly walk for two days after. Totally worth it!

CRAZY

That should be me! Go ahead, pretend it's me. I feel like I wake up looking this way and not much changes each day. I am crazy to be blogging. I have photos to edit and dishes I left undone (gasp). That's just the tip of my iceberg. Mr. M and I have been sick. Good as excuse as any. I am a Mother of 8, I do not need an excuse. All this stuff has been making me crazy. Sometimes it's a good crazy and sometimes it's a are those flashing red and blue lights in the rear view mirror for me, bad kinda crazy.
Crazy busy with field trips.
The first to the train park where I got actually no good pix of trains, just my kids back side on a merry go round.

The merry go round moved and the big trains didn't...easy choice for a kid.
I actually let my kid go to bed with those dirty feet. Makes me kinda sick. Naaaaah, I don't have to sleep with him, and his sheets have sadly I am sure seen worse. AZ weather has been a little crazy and way to hot for this time of year. It's nice though that I can send my kids outside to read for a change of scenery.

The fire station was another fun field trip. Spent the morning at the police station. I was helping some one out not getting arrested. I have never done that. No, it is not on my bucket list....I missed my kids tour of the fire station and not soon after I got there they got a call and that ended the trip. Dang I was so excited for all the photo opps with my kids. That's okay they still looked cute in their little hats.

Miss M must have been half starved for my attention that she gave up using her currency and moved on to mine for attention. " Mom, if I agree to let you take pix of me will you spend some time with me."

That is sad and crazy cuz here is what I usually get when I ask for a decent photo.

Yep that is me in the back ground, I was the only one looking at the camera and smiling. Remember I am trying to document more of our time together this year. This is what I get for my efforts. This was our Zoo outing during spring break.
We also did a lot of this during spring break. Hangin out in our PJ's sporting bed heads. My personal fave.

We even hung out in our nuttins painting on the back porch. The kids, not me.....

Hopefully if I can get around to it, my plan is to frame and hang their masterpieces in the play room. I really want to be done decorating the play room and the flood room so I can post the details. I just can't seem to get ahead. We also had another birthday and I need time to post his adoption story and finish up my how I do it series. I am pacing myself, we will see. It all depends on just how much crazy I can take.

SB Day 3

Oh it was a great day!!!
I decided if I had my man for an entire week, that we were going to get some time together. I tricked (begged) a babysitter into about 8 hours at my house. Poor girl, she was tired when we got home.
Our first matter of business was buying a set of these. My 30 year old Kenmore is done helping me out with the family laundry. We got a great deal!! They arrive Friday morning. YIPEEE!!!!!
We then set out to sit and hold hands uninterrupted while watching this.
It worked.

Then it was onto dinner here,
with my little Brother Jez and his wife B (private blogger)

Such a great day!!!!!

SB Day 2

Not exactly what we had planned, but still we spent it together. Did I mention Layne took spring break off to hang with us.
First on today's list, lots of this...

Layne doing a lot of the hard jobs like, mopping and cleaning the ceiling fans.
We got ready to go in a very stressful way. I was grouchy.....
We were trying to go see this show but,

instead we had this happen,

and ended up browsing the Costco instead. We got two new front tires. Way more expensive than a dollar movie with the kids. It blew out the sidewall and my kids thought the loud pop was fun . I did not!!!! I am so glad Layne was driving!!!!

We took our new tires and our kids home and took much needed naps. I think I needed that nap most. Layne would probably agree. I think he was glad I disappeared into our room once the littles went down. I came out an hour later, refreshed and ready to head to the park to wish Layne's uncle Ray and his twin Brother a very Happy St Patty's Day Birthday.Hangin with our cousins is always fun!!!

PLAYING CATCH-UP

Where to start?? I would not say that my SB was really relaxing. I had tons of kid drama all week Q-Ball became a resident at our house which involves a lot of people in and out of our home and some pretty intense meetings. Layne took Carter to see the Spiderwick Chronicles and the next night I took Carter, Emmi and Sissy to see Horton Hears a Who.

We got to play at the park with our cousins one afternoon. The week was not a total loss just a little crazy. My uncle Harvey came in on Friday from Idaho and he and one of his daughters and her kids came to play and spend the day. Onehm took some pics of the women in my family. I can not wait to see them!!!! My kids love music and love to dance and we turn tunes on at least once or twice a day and dance away together and how cute that these two decided to be dance partners. A little DIAPER DANCIN...

ON TO EASTER
We had a fun Easter!! We went to church and found what fun prizes the Easter Bunny left after church. My side of the family comes over for a Easter egg hunt and dinner every year.

We colored some eggs and tried to let Mom take some pics of us in our Easter gear. I have decided the difference between a picture and a photograph is SKILL. I have none so I just take pictures people who have skills take Photographs. Enjoy the "pics"!!

Emmi was squeezing Smileys hand to keep him from running away. A picture of all six kids together...yeah right!!
Look at these cute Cousins finding and checkin out their treasures. This is our little Brady.
Riley found her eggs and decided to play. Dang she is sure CUTE!!!
THIS WEEK
Today was Sissy's first day of preschool. I know it is late in the year but she had to do all the qualifying first. She is in the early learners program and finally is getting speech therapy. YEAH!! This girl loves her Daddy and he made sure he did not miss out on her first day
This is her I am being brave shot. She did a great job and is even asking to ride the bus. I can not take and pick her up everyday so thankfully she gets her wish and the bus starts picking her up on Friday. She will be gone three mornings a week. I really missed her today. It is always a little hard to see them gain that needed independence and time away.

EMBARRASSING MOMENT
I thankfully have no picture for this but it has to be told. I bought a tank top this weekend while Easter shopping and when I left the store I beeped. No one came to check me out so I left. I beeped going in and out of the next few stores. Again no one bothered me but I still thought it was weird. I checked the clothes I bought and could not find the security tag that the stores put on so I went home. Sure enough when I got home I found one still attached to my tank top so last night I head back to the store to have it removed, because with my luck I would get the blasted ink everywhere or whatever it is they try and scare shoplifters with. I pull the tank out of my purse and notice to my horror BOOGERS all over the shirt. I just grabbed it and ran out of the house with out looking. I was so EMBARRASSED to have to explain to the lovely lady at the counter that my little sweet Emmi takes a nap in my room and must have been to lazy to get up and get a Kleenex and saw my tank top hanging from the closet door and made it into a hankie. I was mortified as she bravely took the temporary hankie with boogers all over it and took the security device off, handed it back as fast as she could and made a beeline for the back of the store while I tried to get out the front as fast as I could. Nice huh?? Wish you were me don't ya?!!!!!
