Change
With all the homework and required reading time Lightning has this year I decided it was time to change. Time for this Mom to step it up! I have always been some what of a morning person. Paper routes as a kid, and A hour in high school. My Mission & getting up for work as an adult. Sleeping in to me has never really been later that 7 or 8 at the latest. As I get older I have become a HUGE GRUMP in the morning. I fully admit it. I wake up and I am NOT nice until the fog lifts. You know what I am talking about? That feeling of not being able to think straight. Couple that with needy, sometimes screaming, sometimes grumpy, or sometimes to playful right off the bat and that spells trouble at our house. Let's not forget the mornings where I come up against pure defiance by some small ones. I usually run to the computer and find something to read. It was my scriptures for a while until the kids caught on to where I was, and then I was getting nothing out of it. Over the summer my friend and I were walking 3 to 4 days a week. I always came home happy from our walks. Now that school is in that has changed to nights. How was I going to get all Lightnings homework in, his scouts, his soccer, and take care of my grumpiness, my family clearly did not deserve? We needed a better plan. My poor husband has been begging me to get a grip in the mornings. I found my self telling my kiddos when they are grumpy that Happiness is a choice. When my husband said it to me, I knew, I deserved an ounce of my own medicine!! So, I am choosing to be happy, a change for the better. Last night I announced my plan and this morning it went very smoothly with out a single bit of grumpiness on my part. I know, it's only been a day...... I am determined to change my ways and set a better morning tone at our house. To be a better example!
The new schedule.
6:15: Mom & Lightning up and reading side by side.
I read my scriptures He reads his scriptures, chapter book , fun book of his choice. No more trying to fit his required reading in after school. Hopefully he will pick up a good scripture study habit along the way.(fingers crossed)
6:40 Piano practice Miss M & Lightning. While one practices the other one gets dressed head to toe.
7:00 Breakfast, family scripture study, prayer, & vitamins .
7:30 Do Miss M's hair get back packs and head for the bus.
7:45: Sneak a five minute breather on the couch, sigh and relax.
I DID IT!!!
Pat my self on the back. No grumpy Morning Mommy at this house today, because I got up and sat reading to clear my head before all the small people could all need me at once. Totally worth the missed half hour to 45 minutes of sleep. I will just have to take a power nap later:)!!!!!
OH,
and speaking of change little H started Dance today. She has been begging for a while to get to go with Sweet K. Today was the day. It started out like this
but ended like this.....
I guess it was a little too big of a change for my Little cutie pie today. Sweet K is even there with her and she would not be consoled. We will try again next week and if she does not love it we will wait till next year & try then.

SMILE With Me,
Because when I list some of the fun happenings around here I guarantee you will be smiling thinkin, Glad that's her and not me.
POOOOOOP
Maybe we should start there.
I had been really sick this last week. Thanks to a trip to the ER with my boy (remember the fall.). Well, the very next day my fun kids played basketball in the toilet. The only problem with that is that there is no where for things to go but down.
Unless you happen to flush after you have clogged the toilet. Then well up and out it comes. We can thank Miss M for the clogged poop filled toilet and Bubba for the flushing. Who do we have to thank for the gag filled 45 minute clean fest and sterilization process?
ME!!!!!!
I have my great Brother-in-law to thank for the FREE plumbing services.
The next round was compliments of my all of the sudden very independent potty trainee, Little H. She decided she could clean herself after an accident in her pull up. It was on my shower curtain, floor, vanity, rug, and my sweet child. It was basically
EVERYWHERE.
Who is smiling because she has the cleanest most sterile bathroom on the block?
ME!!!!
At least the second offense happened when I was not sick and running a temp and feeling awful to begin with.
See, lots of reasons to smile around here.
Kids are great........
When they are not stinkin up the joint they are doing other cute things.
Sissy and Miss M had their dance recital this last week.
They were so cute and confident, I love that they are not shy:)
I actually do have other reasons to smile too.
I was pampered by friends and family for my Birthday.
I got to thank my Mom for all she does for me.
I got to spend fun time with family for Mothers Day.
A great friend helped me when I needed a babysitter.
Bunko...
My hubby paid for a photography class for my Birthday and Mothers Day, so lucky me !! I will get to be alone for a day and learn more about something I love.
Some times it's hard to remember to smile when life is crazy, me and my kids are sick, and they are doing there best to make me loose it.
I find the harder I work on the smiling through the mess though, the easier it becomes.

Busy, Busy
This weekend we did a lot of this.Lightning and Miss M had soccer games.
Lightnings team is undefeated and they are so fun to watch!!
The girls had their dance recital. They are in the same class and got to be partners on stage. Miss M and Sissy were such cute dancers. They both love it. It was Sissy's first performance and she was not scared at all to head on to that stage and dance her heart out.
Sissy will dance for anyone who is a willing audience. We love how low key the recitals are and how they are allowed to just have fun.

SEMI FREEDOM WEEK PART 3
It's Sissy's turn she goes to preschool for speech therapy three days a week. Today was her first day. She picked out her Dress. She has been dying to wear that dress since the moment she laid eyes on it. I made her wait for school. She was so brave getting on the bus. She is going to do another preschool in our neighborhood but that does not start until after Labor Day. I hope it's not to much but it works out to only be a couple hours a day every day.She will have a full day on Thursdays. She wants to go to the other preschool more than this one and I really think it will help her. Yeah for my big girl. Sissy and Miss M also start their dance class today and Sissy wanted to skip school and go straight to dance class. At least the dance class they can do together and maybe it will help Sissy's Miss M separation anxiety. This little girl LOOO-OOVES her Daddy and had to have kisses before she left.

Speaking of my kids just LOOO-OOving their Daddy. I found this when I got out of bed this morning and when I went to touch it I was informed by Miss M that she had her Papa's breakfast ready and to NOT mess it !!! How cute is that?? But where is mine???

I LOVE...
RAINY DAYS!!!!!!We had plans to go to the Zoo with our friends and had to cancel because of the rain. That was a bummer, but as a result my girls are still in their jammies and we have had a fun indoor play and relax day.
NO chores have been done.
No kids but Lightning have been dressed yet.
We have danced all over the house with the stereo up loud. My girls love to dance with Mommy and it gets their wiggles out.
We watched the Aristicats and cuddled on the couch.
I got a book I have been reading done.
We ate lunch with our Uncle Nelson.
We (Sissy and Miss M) snuck into Lightnings V-Day candy when Dad was not looking. We will apologize later...
We are sleepy and so excited for a long afternoon nap.
Don't ya just love lazy rainy days?????
