We went on a vacation to the mountains. We do this pretty much every year at this time. Our cabin had no AC. I was not lovin that. Ever tried to keep 6 of your 8 kids quiet in a room at night with the windows open. Then in the morning listen for the first sound they make and run in a shut the window as to not wake the neighbors. Not using this time share local again! We missed the creek right out our front door. No green grass for my kiddos to run in. It made me have to be a little more creative. I like this vacation every year to be about us, about just being. No big agenda, just time spent together. They cancelled our fireworks too. Dang huh? That is okay we made it work. We walked mountain paths by lakes.
We still manged to make to our favorite creek. We found a new one hiked all the kids down into a ravine and it was a bomb. We spent tons time playing with domino's. We played cards and ate, went hiking and ate, went swimming and ate some more. Noticing a theme here? It was great to get away and great to be home again.

Sad about the fireworks. I'm liking the eating part though.
A quiet family vacay is always a good remedy. Heading on one ourselves tomorrow and can't wait!
