She is our resident whiner. Not feeling well has helped her kick it up a notch. You are right, they all whine, but this girl has made an art of it. Any time the word no is spoken in her vicinty, or she does not get her way, the water works show begins. Moan, cry, complain, and the screaming of the "but. I don't want that!" etc......... Tonight as we were ready to say Family Prayer she was asked several times to get off my lap and kneel down. Nothing new, we do this EVERY night. She ignored me, and Daddy, and then me again. I asked again and she started to whine about needing to stay on my lap. I explained how I can't kneel either if she is on my lap. More whining. Usually when she whines and throws a fit she gets sent to her room until she has found her smile.I didn't use it this time because it's family prayer, so I pick her to set her on her knees and get to mine, she goes limp and starts to bawl. Are you kidding me? So after a little chit chat she is kneeling next to me. Daddy asks her to say the prayer. In her whiniest voice, it went like this,
" Dear Heavemly Fadder, tank you for today, peeease bless my Mommy to learn how to be nice?" That was it, the whole thing. I guess she needed one thing and one thing only, a nice Mom. Never mind that I never once lost my cool in the entire exchange and have spent an entire week with her attched to me as a very large appendage. A cute one, but a little bigger than your average baby. NICE??????? I asked her when the prayer was over, "Did you just ask for a "nice" Mommy?" "uh huh!" I guess I better try harder or maybe her version of nice involves her getting her way all the time. Good luck with that Sweet K, Mommy will not be being that kind of nice ever.

Glad you journaled that prayer. That is funny.
Even at 13, Taylor thinks that when I have to get after him it's because I'm a mean mom.
She is too funny:)
My kids keep praying for the same thing! I dont think it will happen anytime soon.
