Nostalgia

Nostalgia now means longing for an (often idealized) past.

"Miss M, do you remember when you were two and sat on the chair with your foot in your mouth talking on the phone?" (she saw a picture)
"Yes, I loved it...... (sigh)"
"Sweet K, Do you remember that time Mommy took just the two of us for slushy's at Sonic? (just last week)"
"It was so much fun!"
" Mommy do you remember that time I fell and it hurt and you hugged me?
"Yes, (tons of times)"
 "Thank you."
These two spend their days longing for the sweet memories of their youth.
I could quote pages  of their sweet nosatlgic memories of by gone years, WHAT???
STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are freaking your Mom out! This is your youth.
It's cute, but it's also wierd. You are neither one of you over 5 yet.
Cute, creepy and sweet all in one.

I wish I could spend the day pinning away for some of my youth, but I have the sheets from seven beds to wash, those seven beds to remake, a play room to gut and clean, dusting, laundry to fold and put away, tons, or at least it just feels that way. Babysitters to schedule, case workers to try and reach, AGAIN, kids to run to and from pre-school and play groups, lunch and dinner to make, kids to get ready for scouts and gymnastics. Let's not forget home work and piano practice to help with. Do I get a shower? I guess their is no time for nostalgia for me. I may sneek in a little nap though, Wish me luck!!!

OK, your girls inspired me. I spent an hour this afternoon adding lots of Carpenters, John Denver. and Olivia Newton-John to my playlist. Remember when KayDee, you, and I would sing on the stairs in the house on Alder? And make people sit and watch us "perform". I loved that! I will forever have a soft spot for "I'm a Rhinestone Cowboy". You sang it so well!
