I guess I have not changed as much as I thought. I have always hated leaving out details I don't want people to miss out on anything. I can be a long winded phone talker at times too. Who would have guessed? I know I went over board on this post, sorry.I could have done it over several days in different posts but well I did not want to. I guess if I were telling this story with words my Mom would be telling me to lay off the details and get to the end. Oops ,oh well ,it is documented.
We started off this trip with a ride up the tram into the Sandias. You go from desert landscape to mountain pines in a matter of minutes and then we were off to hike and have some hot chocolate. It is amazingly beautiful. We took all six with us up the mountain and all but little H had a fabulous time. My Lightning loves hiking and was in his element. It was fun to actually see some fall colors. ( click on the pics for a better view)

Play was the name of the game on this trip! A house full of nine kids makes for certain entertainment plus the weather was so nice and the kids could play outside. What a blessing for the Moms. Allie has a fun collection of dress up clothes my girls could not get enough of.

We went to the Zoo so our animals could visit with their friends in Albuquerque. It is a fabulous Zoo! We lost little H. Scared me to death because we hunted and there was water everywhere and all I could think of is she went for a swim. She had followed a child with goldfish snacks and was perfectly safe while out of our site. Dang kids, do not do that to Mommy.

We also visited the Aquarium and Botanical gardens

. Albuquerque has
so much to see. My kids loved seeing the jelly fish and sharks. They have the coolest castle with a dragon guarding it. It has over sized vegetables and ants and a fun slide and garden play area. A maze to get lost in. You can play inside a giant pumpkin that has seeds hanging from it's top.

Check out this barn with wild flowers all around. It is part of the botanical garden walk. This is of coarse where I only got a few pics before my camera battery died. I was so mad at my self. I know you are thinking,
pheeeewww.... how many pics did she take? Do we have to see them all? I just like the story a picture can tell.

Like this for instance. We were at the Balloon Fiesta the main event we were there to see (besides our great friends the Paynes (private bloggers)who put us up and put up with us. Thanks again guys, We love you:0)!)and these great Police officers let our kids climb all over them and their carts. It started with Wild Thing and the rest followed. One officer has three girls and the other three boys so we were just giving them a little taste of home away from home.

The Balloon Fiesta is fabulous for kids. First of all it's free for kids 12 and under Adults pay $6.00 to get in. Who can beat that? You can walk in and out through all the balloon's while they are getting ready to launch. Layne took some fun pics from the top of this balloon just before it went up. They are used to people with cameras all around and really let you have at it.

This is my favorite Balloon this year . It is new to the Fiesta and huge. It is amazing these things get off the ground with just hot air.

After the mass ascension that morning the balloon fields cleared and the weather was so nice so we hung out and let the kids run wild in the grass. Put this on your calender as something to see at least once. It is so worth the trip.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was excited to see what photos you choose to post. WHOA! That pretty much covers the whole weekend. We miss you guys. My kids are still talking about you all.
What a fun trip for you guys! I love all the pics. And how cute were those cops to let the kids do that? We happened to be visting Luvpilot's parents one time when they lived in Albuquerque and could see this from their house. It was amazing. I'm glad you all had fun.
Wow what a fun trip! What lucky kids you have! My kids are excited when we go to the park! Glad you guys had such a great trip.
I have always wanted to go to this. I actually had it on my calendar, but we didn't make it this year. It looks like you guys had so much fun. Maybe I can get Shawn to go next year!
GORGEOUS photos! Love that you got so many great shots!
:) Looks like you guys had a great time!!!
I haven't been to the Balloon Fiesta in YEARS! We used to live in NM and my dad was stationed in ABQ. Long story short - I was literally dragged to it and of course typical teenage attitude - I didn't want to be up that early or hang with my fam. I love all of the shots you got and now I think next year - we will "drag" our crew out there. Looks like you had tons of fun!
Wow! Love all the pictures! Looks like so much fun. The balloons are beautiful.
