I have been trying to get Miss M moved up from Early learners to Kindergarten and I DID IT!! I did not want to be one of "THOSE" parents but Miss M is a smart little cookie who missed the cut off by 3 months. She went to a fabulous Preschool and is totally ready for kindergarten. I was really worried that she was going to have the same basic curriculum three years in a row. I met with the principal and she agreed to have her tested and and yet I could tell she was reluctant. They really think those three months make a huge difference and in some kids they might. Miss M is socially and academically ready for Kindergarten. My other reason was having her the in the same grade as everyone else in her primary class. If she was not ready, I would not have pushed for it. But she did a great job on her test and proved to them that she is ready and so she is in the afternoon class with her best friend from church and she can not wait!!!!

Good for you! I sometimes wonder if I should've had Connor tested. He only missed the deadline by 22 days, and while I didn't think he was ready, it was probably more like I wasn't ready for him to go. In fact, I know it was! Yay, two in school!
Wooh-hoo! That'll hopefully free up your days a little more. ;)
Yay! Good job fighting for the best for Miss M. Sounds like she is very ready for Kindergarten.
That is so wonderful! I love that the school system seems to know best for our kids....but really, moms are the ones around them all day and totally know their kids! She will do so great!!
I will play catch up too-
We got our 1 year old the car bed, and he went from not sleeping anywhere but my bed to in 1 night sleeping in his bed.. Yeppee for expensive car beds.
I hate those things also,, die die die..
My first child missed the cut off, and in first they wanted to move her to 2nd, but I prayed and so she stayed, but- she is going into 5th- and is on 8 grade math, and 9th grade reading...
I want to try that so bad but did not know what they would say. Do you take your kids to public school or charter?
