8 is GREAT!

Turning  8 is a big deal around here. It's that age where our children make a choice. The choice to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A decision based on following our Saviors example by and entering the waters of baptism.  Entering into a covenant to follow him and be obedient to his teachings. You can learn more at mormon.org. (link not working) This year was Kasidi's big 8th birthday. Her excitement was contagious. She told everyone about her decision and when her big day was to be baptized. It was beautiful, and all she had anticipated.

This girl and her Daddy have always had a special bond. It is very sweet. Sometimes I tease her about it and she defends her great love for her Dad. I love that she loves him so much.

I love that every part of this great 8th birthday was special and exciting to her. She has always been close to the spirit and express's her beliefs and feelings. She loves to read her scriptures.

When you turn 8 it is a party year. I am not a good party Mom. I admit it. We have a built in party around here. Family is usually enough. I decided that certain milestones deserve some extra fun.

Kas chose As You Wish with a sister, a cousin, and two friends. The guy on her right is her secret crush, ssshh....don't tell! They painted and played and topped of the fun with some Cold Stone.

I think I would call it a success all around. Kas we sure love you and we are so proud of your decision and of the young lady you are becoming. I can not believe how fast you have grown.  Every Mom wonders where the time goes. You are a great helper, you are kind, you love your dolls and your new jewelry box. Anything girly and you can be fond in the middle of it. We are so impressed with your karate skills and how fast you have excelled at it. Who else would wait around so excited to head to the Do-Jo to break a board with their feet for their birthday and consider it the highlight of the day. Keep it up lady, We love you so much!

She is beautiful. I am not a party mom either. Each year, I dread the I two months before of "I want a party."

Congratulations on the baptism.

I love it when kids are close to the Spirit. I also love going to baptisms. I miss that part of my calling. What a great day!
