It's universal,

and possibly one of the most powerful tools a loving Heavenly Father could give us.Prayer is an amazing tool for good. Prayer can change the world. I am most interested right now in the prayers of me and my children. I am often asked how I can make the time with eight kids to be present for their prayers each night. I ask How can you not? You have stepped outside your front door right, turned on your T.V., sent your kids to school? The world is not a safe place in so many ways. I want to arm my kids with prayer. I want them to know they have some one who can help when me and Mr. M can not be with them. From the first day they enter our home whether they can speak or not a nightly prayer is said before bed time. If they are infants I whisper it in their ears.I love this tender time each day. I would not miss listening to the inner workings of their tiny souls for the world. C-Dog, "Thank you for letting us be here!" He is grateful for his family and his circumstances even if his every action some days say otherwise. Prayer may be his only way to express his emotions right now. We are painfully honest with our kids about the circumstances that made our family. Adoption is not a bad word or a secret at our house. It's the norm for our kids. So my heart soars when I hear my sweet Little Miss ask in each nightly prayer  " I adopted please? " or listening to Bubba ask tonight if the precious foster baby we are watching for 4 days can be adopted into her family. No prompting. Their hearts are tender and they know, they must know he hears them. Such pure faith. Wild Thing always ask for "Mommy's boo boo's to feel better, and that no one will fight, kick, bite, hit, or be naughty?" He asks for us to all finally be sealed as an eternal family. These are children ranging in age from 2 to 11. I can not imagine raising a family in today's world with out prayer!. The thought scares me. The great thing is it is there for all of us not just those of a specific faith. It is a power each of us have if we will just use it. Teach your kids to use it. It will change your life, it will shape theirs for the good! When each child entered our home we prayed for what was best for them and then in faith begged for them to be a part of our family. Each child has stayed. Odds not often heard of in the foster/adopt world. An answer to prayer, many prayers. I believe that with all my heart and I am in awe each night at the amazing little people I call my kids.I am one lucky Mom. I can not  express in words my gratitude for this blessing in my life.

LOVE! Thanks for sharing so openly....and what would life be like without prayer? Sad. That is all I can say. And I'm with you....I wouldn't for a second miss that time each night to hear those sweet little prayers. Children are so pure and innocent....and I LOVE hearing those prayers! Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am!!!

I was certainly not as good at this when I was a young Mom. We'd go along with the habit for a while, but too easily let other things interfere.

I am inspired by your efforts! Amazing momma you are!
